Session: Utilizing her own history as a lens in this presentation, Brackman delves into the Danish National Gallery’s extensive collection, spanning 700 years of visual art, to unearth artworks by and about Jews that highlight narratives of belonging, exclusion, and cultural assimilation.

Bio: Yvette Brackman is a visual artist (b. 1967, NYC, USA) who has lived in Denmark since 1999.
Beyond her exhibitions, she was also a professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts from 2000-2007.
Her work draws on references to the Russian historical avant-garde and her family’s history. Her work can be seen in several museum collections including Malmo Art Museum and The Danish National Gallery.
